Job Title: Educational Consultant/Tutor
Salary: $11-14 D.O.E.
Job Title: Site Coordinator
Salary: $15 and up D.O.E.
Schedule: These positions are part-time (approximately 2-10 hours per week), and afternoon and evening availability is a must.
Job Description: Moving Forward Education is an education and empowerment service dedicated to ending the gender-confidence gap in school. Through hands-on tutoring and empowerment, we help students gain confidence and competence both in and out of the classroom. We are looking for experienced and motivated young women to help our clients achieve their educational goals.
Educational Consultant: As an Educational Consultant, you will provide hands-on tutoring, help facilitate academic and empowerment workshops, and build great mentoring relationships with your small group of students.
Site Coordinator: As a Site Coordinator, you will facilitate subject-based workshops and lead fun exercises that help build self-confidence and critical thinking in students of all ages. In addition to this, you will support and coach your staff of tutors, conduct general classroom management and maintain great relationships with school administration.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficient in a wide range of disciplines
- Able to communicate effectively
- Personable and approachable
- Experience working with kids
- Previous tutoring experience
- Familiar with basic computer software (MS Office, Internet, Email)
- Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and insurance
Desired Qualifications:
- College degree or equivalent experience
- Specialty in teaching math and English language arts curriculum
- Dedication to social justice issues
- Women and men of color as well as bilingual candidates especially encouraged to apply
Positions are available throughout the Bay Area, specifically including: Oakland, Berkeley, San Francisco, Mountain View, Palo Alto, San Jose, Santa Cruz and Watsonville.
