Salary: $45K to $60K annually, DOE

Primary responsibilities
The Customer Service Engineer position is a non-selling technical customer service management role that supports sales and promotes post-sales customer satisfaction. The role includes the following responsibilities:
• Become the technical expert for multiple products
• Test, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems in field
• Develop and maintain installation and trouble-shooting documentation
• Guide customers in the installation process and in problem resolution
• Manage exception processes (design & build work) for semi-custom applications
• Guide sales in the formation of product packages and quotations for complex systems
• Manage trouble ticket tracking system
• Up to 25% travel for field service
Skills/Qualifications
• Four year technical degree or equivalent training; mechanical or electrical engineering degree a plus
• Experience supporting technical products
• Familiarity with basic electronic test equipment and assembly tools
• The ability to communicate concise technical detail using written and verbal communications
• Demonstrated success at initiating and completing projects with minimal or no supervision
• The organizational and social capacity to manage contractors
• The listening skills, patience and social skills required to provide exceptional customer support
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and the Internet
• Experience with solar, battery, LED and/or wireless technologies a plus
• Familiarity with mechanical and electrical fabrication and assembly methods for prototype construction a plus
