<description><![CDATA[ServiceSys, LLC, a Corporate IT business working with Networks, Security, and Computer Systems based in Aptos is looking for a Network Consultant. Please note that this is a sub-contracted position. Limited training will be provided if necessary. The main responsibility of the Network Consultant is to meet with small and medium-sized business customers to address desktop and network problems, implement new technology, and evaluate systems and networks for improvements and adjustments.<br>
<br>
The job duties are as follows:<br>
<br>
-	Troubleshoot client problems related to desktop/server software/hardware, network connectivity, e-mail, security, backups, etc.<br>
<br>
Required skills and experience:<br>
<br>
-	Proficiency in PC troubleshooting OS/hardware<br>
-	Proficiency in Windows Server domain networks 2000, 2003 and 2008<br>
-	Proficiency in Exchange Server 2000, 2003 and 2007<br>
-	Experience with VPN implementations, backup technologies, redundant systems, wireless implementations/security, server-based global anti-virus systems, routers, and general networking.<br>
-	A working knowledge in some of the following is required: Linux, BSD, and UNIX distributors, Sendmail and Postflix mail servers, Cisco routers and PIX firewall devices, and Mac OS/hardware.<br>
-	The following certifications would be preferable: A +, Network +, Microsoft Systems Engineer, Cisco, and any UNIX, Linux or BSD certifications.<br>
<br>
Other requirements:<br>
-	Must have 2 or more years experience working in Information Technology in a corporate environment.<br>
-	Must have valid California driver’s license and own or have access to a dependable vehicle for work-related travel.<br>
-	Must have/provide their own equipment necessary for the position (adequate laptop, mobile phone w/SMS texting, and access to high speed internet access) <br>
-	Must be able to work unsupervised yet recognize limits of own knowledge and ask for help when necessary.<br>
-	Must treat customers with tact and grace through stressful situations, and resolve problems with a focus on the total IT needs of the customer, not just the immediate problem at hand.<br>
-	Must have good report writing skills.<br>
<br>
Approximately 80% of the work will take place in Santa Cruz County with the remainder in the surrounding counties. Partial travel is paid depending on the travel time spent on behalf of the customer. Primary Responsibilities:<br>

We are looking for an expert with field-experience in computer networking, specifically with Microsoft Windows Server, Cisco routers, and wireless technology, to help us edit and write and/or edit online course content. We have course outlines for all related courses and an established course development method.

Most of the courses focus on Microsoft Windows Server technology, mostly geared towards MCSE certification. There are a small handful of courses that focus on Cisco and wireless technology and are geared towards the CCNA and CWNA certifications.
<br>

<br>
You will work with the Director of Course Development, who will provide detailed instructions and assignments, and who will monitor your progress and provide support as needed. 
<br>

<br>
You must meet ALL of the following requirements to apply: 
<br>

<br>
- Have at least 2 years of computer networking experience. 
<br>
- Have expertise in Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, Cisco routers and networking devices, and wireless network installations.
<br>
- Preferably be MCSE, MCSA, CCNA, and/or CWNA certified.

- Have excellent, proven, writing skills, preferably in a professional setting. 
<br>
- Work quickly and efficiently, balancing speed and quality.

This is a work-from home position. You will be required to come in to our offices in Santa Cruz at least once for training and orientation.
