A small, local engineering consulting firm located in downtown SF on Montgomery Street. We enjoy steady expansion of client base in the Bay Area region. Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates to apply for the following professional leadership positions. Both open positions are for serving our utilities client and require direct report to the client supervisors:
1. Senior Project Manager - Manages environmental remediation projects, including coordinating consultants and contractor teams and other internal and external resources; managing schedule, scope, and cost; and reporting to client management. Requires at a minimum a Bachelors Degree in civil engineering with a Masters Degree or higher desired, plus at least eight (8) years of relevant professional experience (additional years of relevant professional experience may substitute for a Masters Degree); must be registered professional engineer in the State of California; performs field and office work without supervision; work level requires substantial independent study and responsible judgment; manages complex projects.
2. Project Control/Cost Engineer - Provides our utilities client timely, accurate and detailed information on costs and schedules, as well as information analyzing cost and schedule data. Act as client's representative at a plant facility in San Francisco to track contractor costs. Review invoices for contract compliance and correctness of charges, resolve questions, and recommend invoices for payments. Work with contractors to Identify field change orders needed prior to initiating new work, notify client management and contractor, ensure accuracy and execution. Schedule Management task includes update schedules in Primavera P6 and create reports. Develop work breakdown structures (WBS), Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules; and resource, cost and budget plans. Develop project baseline and baseline change control procedures to quickly respond to on-site changes in scope, schedule, and cost. Also prepare monthly cost and schedule reports. This will be supported initially by an expert earned value consultant if needed, but the position will ultimately be responsible for earned value reporting. Desirable candidate should be competent in project control theory and systems, resource loading, and earned value. Experience with large construction and/or remediation with 2-5 years. Also experienced with MS Project, excellent writing, communication and presentation skills and experience with accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards. Prior government, large utility or Remediation contract experience is desired. Experience with SAP. BA Degree in Construction Management, Cost-engineering, or related curriculum.
